With Good Friday here, Catholics in Houston might need to know where to head for some of the Gulf’s best offerings. So we’ve pulled together a roundup of the city’s best seafood restaurants.
Relatively new to the Houston is Field & Tides, 705 E. 11th St., which opened in mid February. Chef Travis Lenig left Liberty Kitchen & Oyster Bar to launch his own establishment, which merges locally sourced red meat and fresh seafood. Among the menu items are Gulf snapper, pan-seared scallop on shrimp and crab risotto and pecan-crusted flounder.
At the end of January, Pinch Seafood & Bar made its quiet debut at 10510 Northwest Freeway. Southern-inspired seafood dishes make up most of the menu, with some crawfish available for the season.
